<description>
Despite a snow storm the day before the meet, this year's Tropical Splash saw a large number of swimmers show up on Sunday January 31. A total of 16 Alexandria Masters swimmers entered the meet, slightly lower than last year, but were able to assemble four medley relays. In addition to the swimmers, 29 team members participated in working at the meet, and a similar number baked or donated items for the hospitality room.

</link>
<description>
The holidays are now behind us and our annual swim meet is before us. It;s time to gather us the workers and assignments for the Tropical Splash on unsay January 31. Remember that the success of this meet brings in income to keep our swim fees low, so your participation in the meet as a swimmer or a worker is very helpful.
We need volunteers to step forward for the following. Send along an email to me indicating your interest in helping out. . .

Meet Hospitality Request
</title>
<link>
http://www.alexandriamasters.com/news.htm
</link>
<description>
It's that time again. PLEASE bring some baked goods to the meet on Sunday, January 31. The baked goods have been a huge success each year and are what make our meet special to swimmers! Whatever you have brought in the past, please bring it again for this year. Loaf or bundt cakes, cupcakes, muffins, danish, cookies or brownies work best, so swimmers can just grab and go. Michael and I will supply doughnuts, bagels and cream cheese, fruit, coffee, gatorade, water, paper products and decorations. Thank you SO MUCH for your help and participation. We'll see you at the Tropical Splash! You can also contact me to let us know what you are planning to bring.

Kudos to our Leslie DiMichele who completed competition in the Ironman Hawaii in Kona this past summer six weeks after winning her age group in the Louisville Ironman. Leslie reports, "...the conditions in Hawaii were extremely challenging. I was not prepared for the extreme winds on the bike and I ended up with nutrition problems on the run. But, I have never felt so happy and accomplished finishing an Ironman." Congratulations for rubbing elbows and competing with the world's best triathletes.
